Terms of use

1. What this covers

These terms apply to yoursubjects.com — the guide articles, and the study app at /app/. Using either means accepting them. If you don't, please don't use the site.

2. What YourSubjects is

A free study tool and a set of study guides, provided by an individual as a personal project. It is not a company, not a school, and not an examination body. It is not affiliated with any exam board or awarding organisation, and no content here is endorsed by one.

3. Accounts

You may use the app without an account. If you create one, you're responsible for keeping the password to yourself and for what happens under it. Choose a username that doesn't identify you if you'd rather not be identifiable — nothing requires a real name.

Accounts used for spam, abuse, attacks on the service, or uploading illegal material may be suspended or deleted without notice.

4. Your content is yours

Notes, cards, questions, papers and files you create or upload remain yours. You grant only the permission technically needed to run the service — storing your content, and sending it back to your own browser.

If you publish a subject to the public library or create a share link, you're additionally granting permission for it to be displayed to, and copied by, other users for their own study. That's the point of those features. Unpublishing removes the listing but does not reach into copies other people have already adopted.

Don't upload material you don't have the right to share. Copyrighted textbooks, past papers and mark schemes are frequently restricted — a private copy for your own use is one thing, publishing it to the library is another. If you hold rights in something published here and want it removed, tell us and it will be taken down.

5. Our content

The guide articles, the site design and the software are the work of the site's author. You're welcome to read, print and link to the guides, and to quote them with attribution. Republishing them wholesale isn't permitted.

6. Availability and data

The service is provided as-is, with no guarantee of uptime, and it may change or stop. There are backups, but no guarantee against data loss. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose. This is the honest position for a free service run by one person, and it's stated here rather than buried.

7. Advertising

Guide articles carry advertising served by Google. Ads are labelled and kept out of the article text. Advertisers' content is not ours and is not endorsed by us. See the privacy page for how advertising cookies work.

8. AI features

The app's optional AI features send the relevant part of your content to a third-party model provider and return generated text. Generated material can be wrong, and should be checked before you revise from it. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your own study material and for following your institution's rules on the use of AI.

9. No academic guarantee

The guides describe techniques supported by published research. They are general information, not personal academic advice, and using them does not guarantee any particular result in any exam.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the site's author is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including lost data, lost time or exam outcomes. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Ending it

You can delete your account and all its content at any time from the account menu in the app. We may suspend accounts that breach section 3.

12. Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.
